Lighting Strategies

Our concepts in lighting technology are developed taking into account specific requirements of the automotive industry. The selection of basic optical components, materials and illuminants is at the forefront of the structurally designed lighting strategy, whereby we always determine optimization potential and alternative strategies. If required, we offer consulting and evaluation with regard to legal framework conditions.

Technology Concepts

We determine photorealistic and physically correct (concept) representations of the cold and warm appearance of lighting systems. Here we create and check various lighting technology representations such as ray tracing, false colors, homogeneity and chromaticity point representations as well as true color simulations. We can advise our customers on the optimization of disturbing factors such as false and scattered light.

Other areas of activity include the creation of concept light surfaces that comply with legal requirements, concept lenses as well as concept optical fibres whereby we mostly work with 3D geometries in IGES or STEP format. We calculate all lighting systems of a vehicle. These include high beam, dim beam, bending light, taillight functions, signal light functions, interior lighting (reading light, luggage compartment lighting, etc.) and other innovative lighting functions such as glare-free solutions.

We create a schematic visualization of the calculated light field and evaluate the light spread, while paying particular attention to the special requirements in the automotive sector, agricultural and construction machinery, motorcycles and utility as well as special-purpose vehicles. Of course, we produce individual evaluations and visualizations of the results on request.

 

Serial Development & Industrialization

Depending on the manufacturing process, we modify individual components of lighting technology to enable a constructive realization of the lighting prototypes. If required, we support our customers in finding suitable partners for tool engineering and prototyping as well as for refining and coating processes. After the development phase is completed, we take over the initial operation, evaluate the lighting prototypes and offer support for optical measurements of first-out-of-tool (FOT) parts. Our services also include consulting and implementation for lighting optimization in the serial production process and the analysis of optimization potential according to FOT parts.
